Construction: Hand crafted from solid poplar hardwood.

Finishes: St.Joseph Casket and burial urn vailable only in dark cherry finish. Choice of light natural finish or dark cherry finish for St.Benedict Caskets.

St. Joseph Casket interior: Lining of unbleached off-white muslin, fully lined, overlapping folds, pillow, mattress and adjustable bed.

St. Benedict Casket interior: Lining of unbleached off-white muslin, fully lined, overlapping folds, pillow and padded foam mattress.

Outside Dimensions: Each handcrafted wooden Monastery Casket is approximately 83 inches long, 28 inches wide and 26 inches high. Cremation burial urns are approximately 11 long, 8 inches wide and 8 inches high.

Weight: St. Joseph casket: 180 pounds; with shipping crate 200 pounds St. Benedict casket: 85 pounds; with shipping crate 132.5 pounds. Cremation burial urns: 8 pounds

Keepsake Memorial Cross: Available in choice of natural or dark cherry finish. Included in the lid design of St. Joseph casket, St. Benedict casket and cremation burial urns. Additional crosses for individual family members and friends are available.

Pre-need purchases: Monastery Caskets offers the option of pre-need purchase of all caskets. The casket can be selected and purchased in advance so that at the time of need the family or friends simply contact the Monastery for immediate delivery to the selected funeral home. An installment payment plan is available for all pre-need purchases. Pre-need purchases are fully secure and bonded. The Funeral Rule: According to the Federal Trade Commission's recently established "Funeral Rule" a funeral home or mortuary may not refuse or charge a fee to handle a casket purchased elsewhere. Professional funeral providers will be happy to receive your casket from Monastery Caskets. See the Funeral Rule page

Shipping:
  • Caskets and urns can be shipped directly to you or to the funeral home of your choice. Please provide us with the name, street address and phone number of the funeral home.
  • Shipping options - ground or air express shipping to the 48 contiguous States.
  • Shipping costs will vary, depending upon destination and type of shipping. Approximate shipping charges are $180-250 for ground shipments. Approximate shipping charges are $250-600 for air express shipments.
  • Monastery Caskets will make all necessary shipping arrangements with you, the funeral home and the shipper.
  • We act as your agent with the funeral home. You are NOT required to be present to accept the shipment at the funeral home.
